Giving Up Male Friends?

factory_girl

Don’t we love the male friends in our lives that wine and dine us for nothing in return? Honestly, I’m pretty simple. Give me some good food and some drinks, and I’m good. After work, I met up with a long time friend of mine at Apres Diem which is an international style coffee house with a bar. I was glad he called because my day was not going good and a drink is what I needed in addition to some genuine good company.

So $150 tab later, it was time to close out the night. I began to think to myself on the way home. When I do find someone that I consistently date, do I have to give up my male friends that do lovely things for me? That’s going to suck, because I don’t think I would want to?…lol. Who knows, until then…I’m going to keep having a good time! CHEERS!

Aja Restaurant and Bar

Aja Restaurant and Bar

3500 Lenox Rd NE

Atlanta, GA 30326

aja

Aja is part of the Here to Serve Restuarant Group that consists of Strip, Noche, Twist, Shout, Prime, Goldfish, Home, and LOLA. Like the rest of the restaurants in this family, Aja definitely lives up to its trendy atmosphere. With its 10ft brass Budha that arrived straight from Thailand, private seating areas, and delicious food, you and your party are sure to have a great time.

And of course, at night Aja turns into a place where you can let your hair down, do some dancing, and be amongst a good looking crowd. This Saturday, I’m assuming it was Salsa night because the gist of the music was just that…lol. I still had a great time feeling like I was in Miami and everyone was auditioning for “Dancing with the Stars.” I haven’t a clue how to dance Salsa, so I spent my time at the bar with my new Afghanistan friend.

So if you love Salsa and dancing it, I would recommend having dinner at Aja and then Salsa dancing after. Be careful hitting the dance floor because they sure know what they are doing. CHEERS!

Vino Libro

Vino Libro- 933 Garrett Street  Atlanta, GA 30316

This hidden gem in Grant Park/East Avinolibro1tlanta is where sophistication meets a cozy environment. This Black-Owned Wine Bar is located in one of Atlanta’s new trendy communities in the Glenwood Park area. During the day, it’s a WiFi accessible place where you can unwind, do some work, or meet up with friends. At night it becomes a great spot to listen to jazz or lounge in a “at home” set up. They offer carefully selected fine wines in spirits ranging from $8 glass of Mont Asolo Merlot, Italy to $17  glass of Hess Cabernet Cuvee, California. Also have an amazing menu which includes Filet Mignon Skewers and Rack of Tarragon Lamb.

This is my new Starbucks, so if you see me blogging on my Iphone or laptop, please do say hello. =)

Cheers.

Cellar 56

Cellar 56

In Andrews Square: 56 E Andrews Dr NW, Buckhead; 404.869.1132
Wine bars are typically painfully expensive joints populated by hoity-toity types sipping $15 glasses and picking rare Spanish mountain-hog ham from their teeth with golden toothpicks. Get classily buzzed for less, at Cellar 56.

Thrillist - Cellar 56
Decked out with a deep-chocolate wood bar, stone tile and wood floors, 20+ white-linen’d tables, and cream-colored banquettes, C56 slings high quality vino and chow at such reasonable prices, you’d think you were in an Irish Pub — no coincidence, since the owners run the one directly upstairs. The “56″ address dictates both the number of grapey selections and the priciest bottles (Roco Pinot Noir, Verget Macon Bussieres 2006…); however, thirty bottles (Hedges CSM, Kung-Fu Girl Riesling…) are priced at just $24 — so when you order the cheapest option, you’re not being a shameful d*ck, you’re just going with the majority. Small plates are likewise inexpensive, with Land & Sea” offerings (braised lamb shanks, “pork t-bones”) at $5, “Garden” items $4, and “Sweets” like White Chocolate Cream Pudding w/ Krispy Kreme donuts at just $3 — cheaper than a box of Ding Dongs, and there’s pudding.
In the near future, C56 will host special events, starting with a dinner showcasing cigars and bourbons — a hooch frequently enjoyed by non- hoity-toity types as they clean pimiento loaf off their tooth.
